Financial Independence Starts Here

As we approach Independence Day—and America’s 250th birthday—it’s a meaningful time to reflect on what independence really means in our own lives.

Financial independence isn’t just about money—it’s about freedom. The same spirit we celebrate this time of year—resilience, courage, and the pursuit of something better—can also guide how we approach our finances.

Debt can feel limiting, but taking back control is empowering.

5 Steps Toward Financial Freedom

1. Know Where You Stand

Start by listing your debts, balances, and interest rates. Understanding your full picture is the first step toward meaningful progress.

2. Create a Payoff Strategy

Focus on what works for you—whether that’s tackling high-interest balances or building momentum with smaller wins. Consistency is key.

3. Make Room in Your Budget

Cut back where you can. Even small changes—like eliminating subscriptions or dining out less—can free up funds to pay down debt faster.

4. Boost Your Income

Consider ways to earn extra income, such as side work, freelance opportunities, or additional hours.

5. Celebrate Your Progress

Every step forward matters. Paying down debt takes time, so recognize your milestones along the way.

Your Financial Freedom Starts Now

This season offers more than celebrations—it’s a chance to reset and move forward with intention.

As the sky lights up this Independence Day, imagine your own moment of freedom: less stress, more flexibility, and the ability to focus on what matters most.

Your path to financial independence starts with one step—and there’s no better time to begin.

June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month

Protect Loved Ones from Fraud & Financial Exploitation

Elder abuse can take many forms—including financial exploitation, emotional manipulation, and more. Scams targeting older adults continue to rise, with fraudsters using urgency, fear, or emotional connection to gain trust and access personal information.

Common scams to watch for include:

  • Romance or “sweetheart” scams
  • Imposters posing as family in emergencies
  • Fake government or IRS calls
  • Tech support or account security alerts

Protect yourself by:

  • Monitoring your accounts regularly
  • Never sharing passwords or PINs
  • Pausing before responding to urgent requests
  • Verifying situations before sending money
  • Talking with a trusted individual before making financial decisions

For added peace of mind, consider adding a Trusted Contact Person to your account. This is someone we can contact if we notice unusual activity or have concerns—without giving them access to your account.

If something doesn’t feel right, trust your instincts—and reach out. Call us anytime if you have questions or suspect fraud.

We’re here to help you protect what you’ve worked hard to build.
